Cop in trouble for hanging out in a porn neighbourhood
A School Cop is being investigated for linking to a friend’s MySpace page containing a link to a porn site. Why? Because you could get to this porn site in just a few clicks from his profile page. Hmmm, you could get to the same page with just one click from Google.
I’m not expecting a prosecution. But, it does beg the question, could you be judged by your link network. Can the Law and potential employers use this data to discriminate against you? Let’s hope not. After all there’s only sex degrees of separation amongst all of us.

That’s a great question, “Could you be judged by your link network?”
This is the first story I remember hearing about a situation like this one, but it surely will not be the last.
Hmmm…I wonder how common this situation will become, and then, what will it take for the average person to begin fearing falling into this hole (by accident/incidentally) for themselves.
Then, we’ll have urban legends fueling the fear, phishers turning tricks connected to this fear, and Congress calls for hearings on the subject.
That’s how these things go, right?
IDEA: Perhaps we’ll all be given a rating on a scale in order to describe our link network. Then, we can turn it into a bar code and sear it onto our forehead or wrist. Just a thought. Well, maybe we can forego all that and just brag about how big our link network is.
