MySpace joins Google’s OpenSocial

Stories of MySpace joining OpenSocial has been confirmed over at VentureBeat. Google’s move to create an open standard for information sharing across social networks was announced yesterday. This will allow developers to build applications that are independent of the specific social network infrastructure.

While many experts are claiming the emergence of an anti Facebook cartel, I’m not convinced. Open standards could see the end of mass migration from one social network to the latest with features getting more standardised.
