The Times Online and the Hilton.co.uk lose PageRank in the update
The times online and The New Scientist have their TBPR drop from 7 to 5 and the Hilton.co.uk from 7 to 3.
In the case of the Hilton, they’ve also lost that ranking for ‘hotels’. Someone in the office just pointed out the cross linking footer which link to the group sites – this may well be a strong candidate for the downgrade.
There seem to be more to this update than just the Green bar. While the downgrade reports are coming in, many others are reporting the regular Toolbar PR update for many new pages and sites published since the last one. Several pages on this blog now have PR.
Throwing in a few different things into the mix at the same time is not uncommon for Google. And always seem to have the desired effect of causing confusion and chaos.
